The SSAT Verbal section has 30 synonym questions ("which word is closest in meaning to X?"). Every entry in this app has 4–5 synonyms — read them, say them aloud, and notice which words cluster together. The Multiple Choice mode is built for this: it tests you on synonym matching, exactly like the test does.

The SSAT also has 30 analogy questions. Many analogies hinge on word relationships (synonym, antonym, part-to-whole, function). The Tone tag (Positive / Negative / Neutral) on every word helps you build instinct for emotional register — useful when an analogy contrasts two words by feel rather than precise meaning.

Every entry has an etymology line — the Latin, Greek, or Old English root the word came from. Don't skip it. Once you know that bene means "well" (as in benevolent, beneficent, benediction) or that mal means "bad" (as in malevolent, malign, malice), you can decode unfamiliar SSAT words on the test even if you've never seen them. Look for repeated roots across entries — they cluster.

Once you've started studying, the navy "Start Studying" button at the top of the home screen pulls cards the algorithm thinks you should review today, mixed across all lists you've touched. This is what you tap each day for spaced-repetition review. Skip a day or two and you'll see your "Due Today" stat climb — that's normal.
